About the tour

Our Lakagígar Volcano & Lava Expedition is our only daily scheduled Super Jeep tour, offering guests the opportunity to explore the Icelandic Highlands in a small group with an experienced local driver-guide.

Discover the extraordinary Lakagígar volcanic crater row, formed during one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history in 1783–1784.

Travel deep into the Icelandic Highlands in a specially modified Super Jeep, crossing unbridged rivers and exploring vast lava fields and dramatic volcanic landscapes.

Highlights include Fagrifoss waterfall, Mount Laki, Tjarnargígur crater, and the breathtaking Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon. Along the way, enjoy scenic hikes, spectacular viewpoints, and fascinating stories about Iceland's volcanic history and geology.
